Government and its agents (police and district attorneys) have no legal duty to protect; they cannot be held liable for failing to protect. The Problem? They have no legal duty to disclose this. According to Black's Law Dictionary, Due ProcessRights are defined as such: "All rights which are of such fundamental importance as to require compliance with due process standards of fairness and justice."
